The B&W Zeppelin Air iPod system continues to dominate the high end of the iPod systems market. A totally dedicated Apple system (although there is an auxhillary input on the back for other devices), the Zeppelin Air is the perfect partner for all things Apple, and works seamlessly as if Apple itself had designed it. Of course, this comes from the clever people at Bowers & Wilkins, or B&W for short - long standing experts in speaker audio in the UK, and creators of some of the finest speakers for stereo and home cinema systems.
When they first turned their hand to iPod audio, they came straight to market with the predecessor to the Zeppelin Air, the Zeppelin (no surprises there!). The Zeppelin redefined what an iPod could achieve, with incredible looks, ergonomics that surprised with their simplicity, and audio that blew us away. With the Zeppelin Air, B&W have refined further the sound quality, and have introduced AirPlay. Now, not only can you play your iPod from the dock, but you can also play wirelessly from anywhere in your home.
So what does the Zeppelin Air offer? Well primarily, it's outstanding sound quality. From the high quality Audiophile DAC which decodes your digital music to get the most out of it, to the unique speaker design that
includes 5 integrated speakers consisting of a bass driver, two mid range and two tweeters. The elongated shape and some clever technology give an incredibly wide soundscape for what is a great sound experience - closer to true hi-fi than any of the contenders on the market.
Dock your iPhone or iPod and you are instantly aware of how easy it is to control your iPhone/iPod - the dock seems to float in the air and allows you to handle your iPhone/iPod much as it it was in your own hand. Walk away from the unit and use the unique pebble like remote control to adjust volume and skip between tracks. with the Zeppelin Air you can even just sit back with your iPhone/iPod and stream music wirelessly using AirPlay.
If you have two or more Zeppelin Airs, you can even use them like a multi room system - send music to one or more of the units and enjoy sound throughout the house, each independant of the other, allowing you true control of your music.
Of course, there's also the facility to plug your iPad in via the USB cable and enjoy the same flexibility (or use AirPlay!). We find the USB port particularly handy as you can run a cable directly to your computer to enjoy synching too - giving you a complete one stop soluition for all your iPod needs.
All in all, this product has impressed and continiues to impress - enjoy your Zeppelin Air today!
